Yes. The insert is a passive sensor — it only reads the tiny voltages your brain already produces. It never sends any current, signal, or stimulation into you. It listens; it never writes.

No. NeuroFocus uses dry electrodes built into the earcup. There’s no gel, no prep, and no second device — just a supported pair of headphones.

Right now, NeuroFocus supports only Bose QuietComfort series and Sony WH-1000XM series headphones. Other headphone models are not supported yet.

Your focus score is computed from EEG on your own device. By design, your raw neural signal isn’t uploaded to us by default — what can leave your device is the focus number, and only when you choose, like in a session log or an overlay. Whatever you share shows the score, not your brainwaves.

It’s an engagement index from 0–100 — beta against alpha + theta (the Pope et al., 1995 metric used in attention research), read from a single around-ear channel. It rises as you lock in and falls as you drift. It’s a live indicator, not a clinical measurement.

No. NeuroFocus is a consumer focus-measurement accessory. It isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, or manage any health condition — including ADHD.

We don’t know, and we won’t pretend to. NeuroFocus isn’t a treatment and makes no clinical claims. What it gives you is data — when your engagement index rose and fell across a session. Some of us building it wanted exactly that for our own attention struggles. If a measurement sounds useful to you, join the pilot and tell us what you learn.

We have no idea — and you should be suspicious of anyone selling focus who promises that. What NeuroFocus does is narrower and checkable: it measures an established engagement index from real EEG and shows it to you, live and in review. What you change because of the number is up to you.

It ships Q4 2026 and it costs $199 — $51 off the $250 price later. You can pay that when you order, or reserve for $20 now and pay the remaining $179 before it ships. Both come to $199; splitting it costs no extra. The price and the date are targets while we finish development, and we email the waitlist if anything moves.

Yes. Your $20 reservation is refundable until manufacturing begins — and we’ll email you the final specs, timeline, and remaining payment before that happens, so you always get a chance to cancel first. Any balance you’ve already paid is refundable right up until your unit ships, and you have 30 days after delivery to return it. And if we don’t ship on time: if we miss the Q4 2026 window and you’d rather not wait, or we can’t deliver at all, you get back everything you’ve paid us — deposit included, no questions asked. We’ll work hard never to need that clause.
